Mikozz Takes the Crown

First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the writers who participated in our June Writing Contest III. Each story brought something unique and valuable to our community. Our contest wouldn't exist without the passionate readers who take time to engage with every story. Your participation transforms individual writing into a community celebration. Thank you for reading thoughtfully - Each vote represents time invested in supporting fellow creators.

The Moment of Victory

When the final votes were tallied for our June Writing Contest III, one name emerged triumphant from the digital battlefield: Mikozz. With a commanding 44% of the vote, they didn’t just win, they dominated with a story so haunting, so emotionally disturbing, that it left our entire FluentEnglish Community questioning everything we thought we knew about progress, technology, and what it means to be human.

About the Winner

Mikozz has been our community’s creative heartbeat for months, a multi-talented artist whose colorful paintings grace our art and crafts channel and whose intricate doodles, paintings inspire fellow creators.
What makes Mikozz’s victory so fascinating is the beautiful contradiction at its heart.
In their usual world, we see an artist with an intricate taste in content like Adventure Time, Vocaloid melodies, and My Little Pony magic, but we can see in their winning stories; humanity’s extinction, android cruelty, technological despair.
This artist who celebrates whimsy and wonder crafted our darkest literary moment, and that contrast makes their achievement even more powerful.

The Winning Story: “The Last Human”

52 of Mune, 2100
Funfair of L.A:
“Today, for the first time in years, come and experience the joy of Freak Shows! Our special specimen will be here: the very last Human being!”
Every android is gathered in the small tent, with their cameras turned to the cage in which what they wanted to see was: a human.
Those creatures were supposed to not exist anymore after the big AI war of 2026. So seeing one, living and breathing, here and now… what a surprise!
The presenter, a large speaker box, announces what the thing can do:
“AI’DIES AND GENTELBOTS, get ready for MICHAEL, the LAST HUMAN! He can talk, dance, write, and A LOT MORE! And he’ll gladly do it right before your cameras for only one battery! ONE BATTERY ONLY FOR EACH TRICK, AI’DIES AND GENTLEBOTS, a small price to pay for such a UNIQUE experience!”
Everyone’s code is racing at the sight of the boy. A bunch of them are running to the ringmaster with batteries in their metal fingers.
One of them, Sir Linder, a very rich and bored robot, approaches the cage, its lens tightening with disdain as it throws a battery at Michael.
“You, draw something for me. Let’s say… my portrait.”
The boy was an artist back in the day, but he had to stop because generative AIs made his work unvaluable. He was happy to get to hold a pencil again.
But he is weak, misfed, and naked. He takes at least one whole minute to get up and get to his work.
Everybot is looking at him, curious and confused.
“He’s so slow.”
“His image is low-quality.”
“It doesn’t even make colors?”
The boy puts all of his heart into the work, and after a while, he hands a paper out of the bars of his cage.
“That’s for you.”
Sir Linder takes a look at the picture and its vocoder almost breaks.
“Is THAT what I look like to you? I could generate better in the matter of A SECOND!”
The ringmaster looks at it, feeling sorry.
“Should I give him a good whip, Sir?”
The android sighs and puts another battery in the cage.
“No need. You, the meat chunk, sing for me.”
The boy isn’t allowed to talk much normally, but he coughs and starts reminiscing a tune from his childhood.
“Tw- Twinkle twinkle lit- little star, How I wond…er what you are…”
An Androlady in the crowd seems to enjoy it and asks Michael:
“Can you change voice now?”
“S- sorry but I can’t do that.”
“WHAT? Even the poorest programs can do it! Well… generate a song for me, then. About love!”
“That’ll take a while, I fear.”
He starts tearing up, not knowing if it’s because of the nursery rhyme that reminded him of his mother, or because all the crowd is now booing at him.
Instead of doing such, Sir Linder laughs and asks the boy one last task.
“I pity you, flesh object. I’ll give you five batteries. Eat them, that can’t do you any bad.”
“But Sir, I cannot…”
The large speaker interrupts him with a sharp stare. You gotta do what the client asks.
So he eats the toxic metal pieces, one by one.
It hurts his throat, breaks his teeth, and stings his tongue.
The crowd laughs at him, one last time.
Because that was his last freak show ever, as well as humanity’s last breath.

The Artist’s Vision

What makes this victory particularly powerful is that it comes from someone who embodies human creativity at its most joyful.
Mikozz’s love for colorful animation, handmade crafts, and community collaboration makes their dystopian warning even more credible, they know exactly what we stand to lose.
Final Note
Congratulations to Mikozz for creating not just a story, but a cultural moment that will resonate long after the contest ends. In a world of endless content, they’ve given us something truly unforgettable, a mirror that reflects our deepest fears about the future we’re building.
This victory reminds us that the best stories don’t just entertain, they challenge, provoke, and ultimately change how we see ourselves and our world. As we prepare for future contests, we’re inspired by the power of diverse voices to illuminate truths we might otherwise miss.
